Summer Fun With Katya

So, I ran out of time yesterday to make more posts, so here's a couple more pictures. We were lucky to have our neice Katya come and stay with us for 9 days. It was her first time away from home and we had a lot of fun! Here's a recap of some of the fun things we did together during that time.

Katya with her cousin Emma at Color Me Mine, a fun pottery place in town. They had lots of fun together painting their mugs.
Katya helping Uncle Jason get his fishing line all ready. We had a fun day at the park until Maya nearly dragged Katya into the river trying to get to Jason while he was fishing. She was a good sport. :)
Maya's first time swimming. She has been in the water lots, but not deep enough to have to actually swim. She absolutely loved it and we've gone back many times. I don't think she ever gets sick of fetching her ball in the water. She's definitely a water dog with her cute little webbed paws.
Maya longing to get back in the water. Man we love having so many parks near by and the canyon so close.
Jason fly fishing. He caught a fish on the second cast this day! It was fun to watch him with all of his new gear. He's really enjoying this new found hobby. What a stud!!
We took Katya to a John Schmidt concert in Sandy. It was at an outdoor ampitheater. If you haven't been to one of his concerts, you really gotta go! He's amazing and it's a fun atmosphere.
We took Katya to the duck pond and she helped chase some of the baby ducks. It was fun to watch her and Jason in the water wading and splashing around.
We met up with the Wasson gang and went to the Discovery Center in Salt Lake and had a good time there. This was a cool station where they could make up their own creature.
Savannah and Katya, the newly hired news anchors for KSL 5. Don't they look professional?
Maya joining Emma and Katya for a little sleep over. They were watching Homeward Bound, one of Maya's new favorites.

How fun for Katya to come out and spend time with you guys! How fun that Maya is a water dog, too. Do you guys have a Chuck-it (thing that throws the slobbery dog balls)? Those things are amazing and take the game of fetch to a whole new level. :-)

And I know Kirk was going to get Jason into fly fishing but I didn't realize he's picked it up so avidly - way to go Jason. You and Ben should go sometime. He absolutely lives for fishing.

And where's that duck pond? That looks like so much fun!
