Yes, we are alive...and well

After numerous messages, e-mails, and missed calls from my best friend wondering if I am still alive, I decided to let everyone else whom I have neglected to keep in touch with as well, know we are still alive. (And of course, I did call her back and talk for a good hour!) Life in the Scott household has been rather busy. Jason is working his tail off in dental school and is doing quite well. Today he came home from school with his mouth completely numb after he and his buddies practiced injecting each other- what fun! (and I thought the things we did to each other in nursing school were bad...) As for me, I have been working a lot and enjoying life in L.A.

Luckily, during Jason's break in August, we were able to take a week away from L.A. and visit family in Spokane. We had such a great time, it was so hard to leave!!

Huckleberry ice cream...heavenly!! It was so fun to hang out with mom. We all stuffed ourselves at the annual Pig Out in the Park at Riverfront Park and enjoyed every minute of it!!

Now this is vacation!! One of our favorite things was spending Labor day weekend at Sullivan Lake with two of my sisters and their families. There was hardly anyone around, making it a night and day difference from L.A. and we loved every minute of it!! We had such a great time just chillin' with family! We enjoyed the sun, the slight rain, eating lots and lots of yummy food, and most of all, just sitting around the campfire and catching up.

My cute sister Sarah and her son Josh just hangin' out.

This picture says it all!! Kade is such a fun, energetic kid. I'm not sure I've met a funnier, more mischievous, sweet (on his terms) kid than Kade. I miss this little boy so much!!

Emmett was such a trooper. I think he loved being outside as much as the rest of us. What a sweet boy!!

Hailey, Katya, and Josh enjoying the fire and drying their pants after fishing in the creek with Uncle Jason. They were also quite worn out from shooting their bow and arrows all day, that their Uncle Jake made them.

Me and the kiddos. The smoke from the fire kinda messed this picture up a little, but at least we got one together. (my camera battery died after the first few hours and unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures with my sisters or with Jason)

Of course we had to do a silly face picture. (funny that we all stuck our tongues out!)

After camping, we were able to visit with my sister Amelia and her family for a little while and catch up with their busy lives. Man have her kids grown!! That night we met Dave, Lori, and the kids for dinner. This was the night before they started home school and they were all ecstatic!!

The girls were both missing several teeth and had to show Jason!!

The rest of the pictures are of Jason's 6 day backpacking trip in the Sierra's. This fish above is the reason they went on this specific hike. The golden trout is a beautiful fish that is native to California and is only found in certain areas, especially at high elevation. Jason went with his buddy Kirk and they had a great time hiking and fishing.

Very pretty. (who knew California could be so pretty... ;)
What a stud!!

Thanks for the update (and thanks for the call - it was so great to talk to you!)
I can't believe how big all the nieces and nephews are! Glad you had so much fun in Spokane and that Jason got to backpack as well - what a nice break from school stress that must have been. And I'm sure Ben would be jealous too. :-)
